1.1.3 13+ Rating

Langley Station is rated 13+. What does it mean:

First, a writer needs to be older than 13 to participate.

Second, you have to moderate what you write on the topics of sex or violence.

Star Trek as we know it from television is rated 13+. So if you are second guessing what is appropriate and what is not, try to think if it would be shown on screen or not. Basically, you are not allowed any explicitly sexual or violent scenes. If you want to write a scene like that, use the fade black principle. You can imply a certain action happening or have happened, but you cannot describe the action. The same goes for violence scenes. You can write someone's arm being cut off, but you cannot describe how that would look like.

This rating is very important for us and therefor we are very strict with it. We strive to be a fun and open environment for everyone from 13 years and up. I understand this might make some writers feel restricted, but I also hope you can understand the need for everyone to feel free to read whatever we write and feel comfortable doing so. This also applies to our Discord channel, and any other public communication Out of Character.

What is allowed:

Language: Infrequent, mild swearing is allowed.
Sex: Mild sexual innuendo and references permitted.
Violence: Mild violence is allowed.
