| Personal History | Like all Andorian children, well those of noble birth, anyway, Seela left her family at 6 years old to enter the z'lehn or soldier school. She learnt how to fight and how to live off the land. At 17 she left Andor and joined Starfleet, against the wishes of her parents who wanted her to follow in their footsteps by entering the Imperial Military Academy and eventually becoming Officer in the Imperial Guard. But Seela had other plans, her uncle, was a Starfleet Officer and when he returned home on leave, he would regale her with stories of his adventures. Listening to these stories about discovering New Worlds and meeting alien races. She imaged being out there herself on a starship exploring the unknown. Of course if she followed her parents' wishes she would be on starships but she'd be close to home, as vessels of the Imperial Guard seldom left Andorian territory. Her first year at the Academy had been an antenna straightener (eye-opener) she met all sorts of people including Vulcans, Humans, Bajorans, and even a Tellarite. Tellarites were one her people's ancient enemies, but apart from being a little argumentative she found him pleasant enough. Seela had no real idea what she wanted to specialise in, so she tried a bit of everything. Finally she decided to specialise in Security/Tactical and Operations. The CO on her first assignment put her forward for Bridge officer training. |
