| Personal History | Born on 25 June 2361 in San Francisco, as the third child to James and Hanna Washington. With two older brothers and a father in the military, Ellen was brought up in a very protective environment. In 2375 her mother died at the attack by the Breen on San Francisco, while she and her father were off planet. With her brothers both joining the Academy soon after, her father decided to take her along with him to wherever he was posted. She hasn’t returned to Earth since. When she was 18 she joined the medical branch of Starfleet. After her schooling was finished she was assigned to the USS Portland, a ship she is still serving with to this day. During the years working as a nurse she wanted more. She loved assisting the doctor with the treatment of patients, but she wanted to be the one treating patients. So, in 2391 she signed up for medical school while continuing serving on the Portland. Most of the practical coursework she could do by doing extra shift as work together with the doctors or on the holodeck. When the Portland was in port for a large upgrade and to take on a mostly new crew Ellen took a dare from her best friend Maria Hill and approached a very good looking stranger and spent the night with him, only to discover the next morning that he was gone. It took her till the end of the Portland’s first mission to discover that the stranger wasn’t just serving on the Portland, he was also the ship’s Executive Officer, Timothy Rouse. Upon that discovery they decided to continue on their attraction and start a relationship. Eight months later she gave birth to another surprise of that night, their son Andy. During a shore leave mission Tim asked her to marry him and hours later they were married by the Captain in the presence of a small group of family and friends. When Andy was about six months old Tim and Ellen both joined Meru on a mission to rescue some crew from a Breen prison camp. The rescue didn't go as planned and Tim ended up on the planet. With the assistance of her brother and his ship they went in for a second rescue and got Tim out. She was present with the mission where Meru personally ended a long running rivalry with the space pirate Vike. Soon after they left on a transport to Langley Station where Ellen got a chance as working as a resident after her graduation, which was only a few weeks away now. |
